Applying for 2018 -2019
1. Click here for our application. Interested parents may call the school to speak to Patti or Fiona in the admissions office. Children must be at least 2.2 years of age by September of their first school year.
2. We recommend that you return your application promptly. Upon receipt of your application the admissions office will call you to schedule a parent tour and a child's interview. We do insist on meeting both parents so please plan to attend the tour and/or accompany your child to the interview.
3. Park Children's Day School is a member of the Independent School Association of Greater New York (ISAAGNY) and abides by the Association’s policy on informing parents of admission decisions.
Tours and Child Interviews
Small group tours are given daily at 9:30am and 10:30am and last approximately 45 minutes. Both parents are encouraged to attend.
The Child's Interview takes place in the afternoon and lasts approximately 30
minutes. Only one parent should accompany the child for this visit. Interviews begin in late October. Applicants for the Fours and Fives will be seen in January and February based on availability of places.
The criteria for accepting children are: the parents’ belief in the philosophy of the education espoused by the school, suitability of the program for the individual child, and the need of the school to maintain a balance of age, sex and personality types. Siblings are given preference for placement.
To increase diversity in its enrollment, the school has an active and broad program of reduced tuition for any child who would otherwise be unable to attend. The Parents Association annually conducts a fundraising drive to support the Scholarship Fund and the school is deeply committed to this endeavor. In considering enrolling a child, we hope that parents will be willing to support the scholarship fund and to welcome these families into the school community. Tuition grants are available to all members of the school community according to need. Families may receive full or partial tuition grants..
