At PCDS, we’re committed to our students growth and success as they move to the next phases of their education.

Events Calendar

The PCDS Parents Association (PA) always has an engaging lineup of events for our PCDS friends and family!

Children learn through play and actively engaging with their environment. The classrooms at PCDS offer a variety of hands-on experiences and activities: dramatic play, block building, art activities, sand and water play, science, cooking and music. Each child is unique, and the teachers provide opportunities to stimulate their cognitive, physical, social and emotional development while taking into account children’s individual learning styles.

The criteria for accepting children to PCDS are: the parents’ belief in the philosophy of the education espoused by the school, suitability of the program for the individual child, and the need of the school to maintain a balance of age, sex and personality types. Siblings are given preference for placement.

PCDS admits students of any race, color, religion, national or ethnic origin to all the rights, privileges, programs and activities generally accorded or made available to students at the school. We do not discriminate on the basis of race, color, religion, national or ethnic origin in administration of our educational policies, admission policies, scholarship programs and other school programs.

PCDS has an excellent and active Parents Association that works throughout the year to hold engaging events, activities, and fundraisers. All parents and guardians of our students are members of the PA, and we encourage all members to contribute to and participate in our community.

Additionally, we love to stay actively engaged with our alumni base of hundreds of families. We pride ourselves in a strong sense of community over the decades and deep, lifelong friendships developed with both students and parents.

Park Children’s Day School educates young children in a stimulating and joyful environment in a landmarked school building across the street from Central Park on the Upper West Side of Manhattan.

Our mission has remained the same since our founding as a non-sectarian school nearly six decades ago: To enroll children from diverse racial, economic and religious backgrounds and teach them respect and cooperation within the school community of students, teachers, staff and families. Moral and ethical values are fostered in a warm and nurturing environment. Park Children’s Day School emphasizes courtesy and acceptance of others while encouraging each child’s self-esteem.
